a-squared Free 4.5.0.27

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010

The problem with a-squared free 4.5.0.27 is too much false positive alarms. I mean I got too many false positives during the first few days of use and this really worried me. This is not the first time users will be complaining about this issue, and one would think the publishers would have done something about it before now.

a-squared free 4.5.0.27 is a free antivirus scanner that scans your computer for malicious software (malware) and other harmful programs. The publishers have combined many tools in this version to make it a version specially built for people who wants to find and remove Trojans, dialers and worms safely without causing any major damage to their system.

The program has a memory scan that helps to scan and detect malware almost immediately and save users the pain of having to do it themselves. Users therefore have the opportunity to choose which of the harmful programs they wish to delete after detection.

My advice for those who always do many things online is to go for a paid version of antivirus to safeguard their files and other things on their computer.

Remove Fake Antivirus 1.63

Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010

Do not be fooled, as there are real and genuine antivirus security programs, so are there fake ones. These fake ones cause a lot of damages to our computer, making us to spend so much money in putting things in order and making our computers vulnerable to attacks. This is where Remove Fake Antivirus 1.63 comes in.

Remove Fake Antivirus 1.63 is designed to help users remove fake antivirus programs which are either known as viruses or Trojans. Users can find this tool useful when they want to deal with the following programs and threats: personal security; cyber security; Windows Enterprise Suite; Windows Police Pro; Alpha Antivirus; Braviax; Total Security 2009 and a host of others.

It is a freeware program and really should not cause any user to panic, but the risk of tagging some programs as fake is always there. Sometimes, a user may even find the system restore on his computer more useful than a program like this. My opinion on this one goes like this; if you do not have a fair idea about some programs on your system, never run this stuff.

UltraDefrag 4.2.0 RC4

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

This program works just fast and fine, using three different interfaces namely: graphical; native and console. The GUI represents the file system of the a user virtually as a color coded cluster map. UltraDefrag is an open source program useful for those who want to carry out defragmentation of their system, and especially for Windows NT.

For those who prefer the command line, this program offers them a very useful alternative in terms of tool. Users can run UltraDefrag right from the task scheduler and scripts with much technical worries or difficulties. Even if skeptics have resentments about the suitability of a free or open source program like this one, I think they should have a rethink. This programs rocks very well on your system and is quite fast.

The new UltraDefrag 4.2.0 RC4 is not just new, but out with some other new updates and minor bug changes. Some of these updates and changes include the following: much faster volume analysis; updates of many language translations; better volume status messages in GUI among others.

BitComet 1.20 Build 20100318 Beta

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

I never fail to emphasize the need for users of programs like this one to be extremely cautious when it comes to download of files. BitComet 1.20 Build 20100318 Beta supports simultaneous downloads of files, download queue, selected downloads in torrent package, chatting, disc cache, fast-resume and speed limits among other functions.

Personally this is not my kind of program because it is far from matching the kind of functions I get from uTorrent for instance. No doubt still free for download, but still has a lot of work to do especially with the frequent ads. This new version, though still in Beta stage has some newly added features like: addition of 52 language help and translation; minor bug fixes and other minor updates.

Those who are interested in using this program may find the following features very useful: preview while downloading; intelligent connection optimization; quick resume; auto configuration ICF; option of disabling and setting priority of files in any torrent and other features too numerous to mention here. BitComet 1.20 is licensed as a freeware program and is available for free.

Guru3D – Driver Sweeper 2.1.0

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

Guru3D – Driver Sweeper 2.1.0 is specifically designed to help users remove driver leftovers from their computer, thereby making it free and faster than before. The problem with most people who use computers is that they really do not take time to remove drivers in the proper way it should. This causes a lot of problem for computers when you want to boot it. As a matter of fact it causes problems that have to do with stability and startup.

Users who want to update their drivers can also use it for that purpose apart from using it to remove drivers from their systems. It is not really a popular program among users even if the publishers allow users to make use of it freely without any cost to the user. For this version, the publishers have made some minor amendments which include: addition of new languages (Portuguese); parameters for desktop Icon restoration; changing of clean parameters to clean NVDIA display among others.

For those who want to use this program, they must know that this program affords them two different ways of usage. Both methods however achieve similar results in the end.

Spam Bully for Outlook 4.4.0.5 Beta

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

I really cannot say if the 14 days trial period for this program is enough, but I just think the price is a bit on the high side. If one can get to use the outlook express for free and still able to get a lot of useful features, then I think the publishers have some more work to do.

Spam Bully is built to help users fight spam and keep their Inbox safe and free from all forms of spam sent to them. As a matter of fact Spam Bully for Outlook 4.4.0.5 Beta integrates easily with the outlook express. The toolbar is easy to operate for any user and users can also get to enjoy the following key features: allow or block email addresses, block spam by country and language, bounce spam back to senders (spammers), send challenge emails to unfamiliar email senders and so much more.

For those who want to check it out, they can download it for a 14 days trial after which they would have to decide if they want it or not. The cost of purchase is put at $29.95 per download from the page of the publishers.

CDRoller 8.70.97

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

Users who want a Data and Audio CD management software can try this one out first and see for themselves. CDRoller 8.70.97 works as a set of both low and high level Data and Audio CD management utilities integrated into a common intuitive shell. This program features a fault-torrent Data CD browser and content reader, tester to check CD entirely, CD media analysis tool, audio CD digital extractor and so much more.

For $39.00 users can have it for use, but the problem I have with it is not what it does, but the price. Perhaps if the publishers could lower it a little bit further, it could catch more attention than it is already doing. For a program that can fully recover CD data, recover DVD movies, retrieve lost data from disc and so many other useful things it can do, I have no doubt in my mind that it is well-packaged.

Some of the newly introduced features and updates include: improved code for search of the lost audio data CD; addition of new extract track data option into disc and many more.

Internet Explorer Collection 1.6.0.6

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

We all know Internet Explorer needs not much introduction; at least almost everyone familiar with the Internet knows that Microsoft is the publisher. Formally Microsoft Internet Explorer, Windows Internet Explorer is based on the Trident render engine, which is different from the W3C Web Standards. This program contains multiple Internet Explorer versions, and what makes it most interesting is the fact that they are standalone, making them all useful at a time.

This collection also includes the popular Internet Explorer Developer Toolbar. The bar provides a series of tools which makes trouble shooting of websites easier to handle. Another important thing users must know is that the Internet Explorer Developer Toolbar is also compatible with Internet Explorer 5.0 and other higher versions making use of Windows 2000 or even higher.

Internet Explorer Collection 1.6.0.6 has some minor changes, making it a more delightful program to install to enrich your Internet browsing experience. As usual, Internet Explorer collection is a freeware and is free for download and use.

System Explorer 2.1.0.2814

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

Most people do not take out time to find out how their systems perform in the background. This is basically one major reason most systems pack up and need to be taken to computer engineer for repairing. System Explorer is a very useful utility that gives you very detailed information about your computer processes, startups, Explorer, Internet Explorer Add-ons, Windows, Uninstaller, Drivers and even services just to mention a few. Come to think of it, it is a freeware and can be downloaded and used for free.

It can also be used for monitoring process activities happening inside your computer, giving you a lot of helpful information in the process. Results are displayed in treelike manner for the user to view and act upon. Users have a lot to benefit from such program as this one because of the above functions; moreover it is free and comes with no string attached.

Though it requires some little bit of space to really install it, it is no doubt a fairly good program.

OpenVPN 2.1.1

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

OpenVPN 2.1.1 is generally known for its feature-filled SSL VPN solution that has the capacity to accommodate a wide range of other configurations, not excluding remote access, site-to-site VPNs, Wi-Fi security, and enterprise-scale remote access solutions with load balancing, fail-over and fine-grained access-control.

Some of the features users can find and enjoy include the following: remote and secure access to network and application resources; secure and scalable site-to-site VPN; Wireless security; enabling of real-time interactive collaboration applications and some other features.

OpenVPN 2.1.1 is an improvement upon past version and users who are quite familiar with how to use this program have something to cheer about. OpenVPN has carved a niche for itself and even if it continues to get some challenges, the publishers have continued to hold their own. There is no harm in trying it, not just because it is free and open for use, but the fact that it is a fine program that does not need much technical knowledge to get used to.
