O. James Samson - March 25, 2012

Thinking of how to free up disk space, delete cookies, and erase internet history on your computer? BleachBit is a freeware that can be used to perform any of the following tasks: quickly frees disk space, removes hidden junk, and easily guards your privacy, completely erase cache, delete entire cookies, clear Internet history, remove unused localizations, shred logs, and delete temporary files. Built for Linux and Windows operating systems, it can be used to erase several applications such as Firefox, Internet Explorer, Flash, Google Chrome, Opera, Safari, Adobe Reader, APT, and more.

Apart from simply deleting files, BleachBit also possesses advanced features such as shredding files to prevent recovery, completely erasing free disk space to hide traces of files deleted by other applications, and cleaning Firefox to make it function faster.

Besides being a freeware, BleachBit is also an open source.
