REAPER for Windows (x86) 4.51
O. James Samson - September 13, 2013Do you want a program that can help you record, arrange, edit, and render multi-track waveform audio? Then one of the programs you can take a look at is REAPER.
What’s REAPER?
REAPER is a powerful but sensible Windows application that lets you record, arrange, edit, and render multi-track waveform audio. It provides an extensive set of features, but is a very small and lightweight application (the installer is less than 1 megabyte, and includes many effects and a sample project).
REAPER supports ASIO, Kernel Streaming, WaveOut, and DirectSound for playback and recording. It reads WAV, OGG, and MP3 files, and records WAV files. You can arrange any number of items in any number of tracks and use audio processing plug-ins (DirectX and Jesusonic). REAPER also supports volume, pan controls and envelopes per track, multi-layer undo/redo, and user creatable colour themes.
REAPER has all the basic features you will ever need when it comes to editing, recording. Some of these key features include the following: Layer recorded tracks and takes over previous recordings; Hundreds of audio and MIDI processing effects included, or choose from thousands of third-party effects; Record audio and MIDI from multiple inputs simultaneously; all editing and effects are completely non-destructive; and edit recordings in almost any imaginable way.
The application works with almost any hardware and can be used in combination with a vast universe of other software and plug-ins.
Any downside?
REAPER is without doubt a great program that has all those nice features; and the price too is not on the high side.
