main.jpgNeed3Space is a comprehensive set of tools which helps you control and manage your disk space, while also gathering free space, for any drive. You can find duplicate files, temporary files, unneeded or junk files, empty files and folders – all you need to keep your PC neat and your hard drive clean. It features the Analyze tool which can help you to find out which folders and files are the largest on your drive with only a glance (you also can see how much space is used by each file type).

Other features like Uninstaller and Disk Information will help you to collect any possible information about system and applications installed on your computer, free and used disk space and other useful information. Recycle Bin Explorer allows viewing detailed information about files which were moved into Recycle Bin (you can restore, move, copy, remove files from the recycle bin, navigate through folders and subfolders and if you have administrator privileges you can look through all Recycle Bins of the other users on local computer). History Sweeper

Monday, February 5th, 2007

sweeperm.pngHistory Sweeper will automatically clean up the history of your activities, remove intrusive devices, and save your storage spaces. By so doing, this software protects your privacy and increases your online security.

How does it protect your privacy and increase your security?

The truth is this, whenever you use your PC, traces of your activities are left on your computer. This means anyone could come in and find out what you have been doing on-line; the sites you visited, the documents you used, the programs you ran, etc. this software helps you clear your tracks.

Also when you are on the Internet, you may have downloaded intrusive devices such as cookies, bugs, and spyware. These devices may strike at any time on your PC. But History sweeper helps you get rid of such quite easily.

Citrus Alarm Clock – Wakey wakey!

Monday, February 5th, 2007

screenshot01t.pngAre you tired of relying on your boring old alarm clock to wake you up or the usual typical radio stuff on your radio alarm clock? Here’s a little program that lets you take control of exactly what you want to wake up to.

It has features above and beyond any standard alarm clock, such as being able to set different wake up times for different days. In fact you can set as many different alarms as you like! It uses your own media player, what’s cool is it can fade in the “alarm” so you can awaken more gently, this means you wont have the shock of thinking you just woke up in a mosh pit if you choose to wake to heavy metal!

It’s totally free and you can download it over at the website.

Give Yourself A BREAK

Monday, January 29th, 2007

breako.gifAt times we get so carried away by the work we have to do, sitting at the computer for so long that we forget to take healthy breaks. Break is a useful software created to help you work effectively without killing yourself.

Break is designed to help you not work too long at one time on the computer. It lets you set a timer from 1- 120 minutes to remind you to get up and go for a walk, have a coffee, go home, go to bed etc. Auto reset and auto boot are also supported.

Break works in two basic ways, as a work logger and as a rest reminder. As a work logger it records your work times. Work can be divided into five different categories, with maximum work capping for each category. It maintains a running total to show you how long you are on your computer, and what you do most while on it. As a rest reminder it simply reminds you to take a break.

Open the Dore to ADHD

Thursday, December 7th, 2006

ADHD and it’s close relatives, Asperger’s Syndrome, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and Dycalculia, are a spectrum of neurological conditions that have many thousands of sufferers. Most treatments are either about living with the disorders, or damping them down with drugs, so not ideal.

Dore’s original approach is one based on the latest research on how physical exercises and therapy encourages development of the areas of the brain responsible for these syndromes. The treatment is expensive, around £2,000 ($4,000) in most cases. For FREE however you can take tests online to see if there’s a good chance that you suffer from these complaints and if the courses Dore offers from it’s worldwide centers would benefit you.

RSIGuard: Avoid Repetitive Strain Injury

Wednesday, November 15th, 2006

brkwnd.jpgIf you spend long periods of time at your computer, you have a pretty good chance of developing a repetitive strain injury over time. This can show in ways such as a backpain, sore fingers or eyestrain. So whats the way to avoid all this or help yourself out if you’re already affected? Spend less time at your computer! Too much to ask for? Then at least take regular breaks!

Try out RSIGuard to help you achieve this, it schedules regular reminders for you to take a break. It can show exercises and stretches, which can optionally be disabled. In fact everything about this program is very configurable. It also has tracking and reporting of statistics to help you know how you’re doing. If you find yourself ignoring the breaks you can make them harder or even impossible to ignore.

I highly recommend this program as i think its designed well and does what it does well. Although being reminded to take a break can be a little irritating at times, but isn’t that the whole point? (but not as irritating as developing aches and pains, so it’s worth it in the long run).
