Qmusic
O. James Samson - May 26, 2009One of the basic requirements for those who wanted to create music is to know its basic theories. But that requirement may no longer be needed through an application called Qmusic. Now on its 4thversion, Qmusic is a very simple music editor and creator which now integrate more audio formats compared to its previous version.
The key to the application’s efficiency in helping users without familiarity with basic music theories is the use of visualization. Instead of using music notes to make some changes in the tone, they are represented in red line to signify which tones are longer and how long it is used in the music. Users can easily drag the sound or trim the sound using the familiar shortcuts in editing.
The interface requires some getting used to before music could be easily edited. Since each tone will be properly represented, identifying the right representation could be difficult especially if the user has no idea about the music. The rest of the buttons are very straight forward so that users will be able to add, replace or delete a tone.
Users who have no background in music can have fun using the application in no time. For those who are familiar with basic music theories, this tool will definitely ease music editing. Controlling and creating loops will now be easier since the visual representation of the sound is clearly indicated in the application. But even though it has added another audio format, it’s still limited since only Mp3 and WAV format can be used.
