O. James Samson - January 14, 2010This is a freeware program that uses core programs of GParted and Parted to handle all partitioning tasks with so much ease and simplicity. It also features some other useful programs like Partimage, TestDisk, Clonezilla, Truecrypt, Ddrescue, G4L and a host of others. The result of the use is that the user gains a lot from this in many excellent ways.
Parted Magic 4.8 also has a collection of huge file system tools like ext2, fat32m, Linux-swap, reiserfs, xfs, ext3, ntfs, hfs, hfs+ and others. Parted Magic 4.8 is fully and well built to handle all the mentioned tools above, making it a fine program for use when partitioning your system.
Version 4.8 contains the following features: features that enable the user to move, copy, create, delete, expand and shrink hard drive partitions; test memory for bad sectors; benchmark your PC for a performance rating; test hard drives for impending failures; format internal and external hard drives and cloning of your hard drive in other to create a backup among others.
It is recommended that a user takes some time to get used to this program before making use of it. Though there is a feature that supports system restore, it is still advisable that caution be applied.
