Wireshark is a network protocol analyzer for Unix and Windows operating systems. Once installed on your system, you can examine data from a live network or from a capture file on disk. You can also interactively browse the capture data, viewing summary and detail information for each packet. Wireshark for Windows has a lot of user-friendly features that include a rich display of filter language; including the ability to view the reconstructed stream of a TCP session.

Wireshark for Windows is an open source program, and comes with features that will enable you do the following: live capture from many different network media; import files from many other capture programs; export files from many other capture program; open and save packet data captured; filter packets on many criteria; search for packet on many criteria; create various statistics; capture live data from a network interface; display packets with very detailed protocol information; colorize various statistics; and many more.

Wireshark for Windows allows you to have increased and maximum visibility into PCAP files, and many more. This definitely one of the best open source programs on the internet; and a good program to have some fun while filtering applications.
