Free File Wiper 0.3
O. James Samson - May 11, 2011Free File Wiper will delete files securely. Simply drag & drop directories and files on the trashcan and Free File Wiper will erase them completely. The files will be overwritten with standard and random patterns. After the wipe, the files cannot be undeleted and restored. However, you have to be very careful when choosing a file to be deleted by this software. This new version include a few updates and additions such as the following; addition of a 10 seconds delay before deleting files after wiping (this ensure that the file cache is written correctly to the disk) – can be disabled in the menu, addition of a menu option to hide systray tooltip while wiping files, Red icon while wiping files, modified tooltip size, after wiping, the file is truncated (so undelete software will only see a 1 byte file), and all wiping errors are logged (check Free_File_Wiper.log).
Free File Wiper is a freeware program, and is compatible with the following Windows operating systems; Windows 7, Vista, and Windows XP. You have to be careful when using Free File Wiper since it does not have features that enable you undelete files that have been once deleted from your system.
