DirCaster 0.9g
O. James Samson - June 30, 2011DirCaster is a PHP script that allows you to easily start Podcasting MP3 files from their web host. The program allows original content creators to provide a feed for the Juice Podcast Receiver, jPodder, and other “podcatching” software.
DirCaster is very easy to use, all you need to do is to simply drop the dircaster.php script (and accompanying files) into a directory on the web server and it will generate a valid RSS feed suitable for Juice Podcast Receiver etc., based off the MP3 files (with appropriate ID3 tag information) in that directory. All you need to do anytime you wish to broadcast a new MP3 file is to simply upload it to the same directory that contains the DirCaster script and files.
New features or updates included in this version by the publisher include the following: added logic to allow placing media files in a separate directory, and a couple of bug fixes. The publisher has really worked hard on this version, and this makes even more advanced than the previous versions. A few versions before this one in review were really impressive, and users are not going to find this one any different either.
DirCaster runs is an open source, and runs on Linux and Windows 2003.
