The publishers built this program simply because NetStumbler doesn’t work well with Vista and 64-bit XP. inSSIDer is an open-source Wi-Fi network scanner designed for current generation of Windows operating systems. inSSIDer has undergone a lot of improvements since it was first introduced. Some of the latest changes made to this version include the following; fixing of Spelling error on Network Type Drop down, fixing of 2.0 and 2.1.0 upgrade process, fixing of issue with some SSID’s with the same name displaying only one instance, fixing of method not found (‘Int32 System.Threading), fixing of Spelling error on Network Type Drop down, fixing of 2.0 and 2.1.0 upgrade process, fixing of issue with some SSID’s with the same name displaying only one instance.
inSSIDer enables you to do a lot of things that include the following; inspect your Wi-Fi and surrounding networks, scan and filter hundreds of nearby access points, troubleshoot access points and clogged Wi-Fi channels, highlight access points for areas with high Wi-Fi concentration, track the strength of received signals in dBm over time, sort results by MAC Address, SSID, Channel, RSSI, Time Last Seen, export Wi-Fi and GPS data to a KML file in Google Earth, and many more.
