O. James Samson - April 9, 2012Pidgin (formerly Gaim) is a freeware that allows you use several of your favorite instant messaging like AIM, Yahoo! IM, MSN, ICQ e.t.c simultaneously. That means you can be chatting with friends on Gtalk and still be talking with friends in yahoo chat rooms or MSN all at the same time.
Pidgin is compatible with the following chat networks out of the box: AIM, ICQ, Google Talk, Jabber/XMPP, MSN Messenger, Yahoo!, Bonjour, Gadu-Gadu, IRC, Novell GroupWise Messenger, Lotus Sametime, SILC, SIMPLE, MXit, MySpaceIM, and Zephyr. It can support many more with plugins. What’s more, it contains no unwanted ads.
This program has most of the key features of chat networks like file transfers, buddy icons, customized smilies and typing notifications. It supports several languages and runs on Windows, Linux and UNIX operating systems.
