OpenOffice for Windows 4.1.2
O. James Samson - November 26, 2015It is always a welcome relief when one finds a program that works just like the popular Office Word and Excel. That is what OpenOffice brings to the table; as an open source program, it is one of the most impressive applications that is worth checking out.
OpenOffice is the open source project through which Sun Microsystems is releasing the technology for the popular StarOffice productivity suite. It is an international office suite that will run on all major platforms and provide access to all functionality and data through open-component based APIs and an XML-based file format. It establishes the necessary facilities to make this open source technology available to the developer community.
Though, it still has some catching up to do before it can be compared to the popular Office program; OpenOffice still remains one of the best software that you can have on your system. The fact that it has been downloaded over a 100 million times makes it one of the best available.
Does OpenOffice have any downside?
Though, there is still room for improvement, nothing should be taken away from OpenOffice because of its compatibility with the popular Office software.
