SciTE 3.6.5
O. James Samson - April 18, 2016Are you looking for a Scintilla-based text processing tool, which supports syntax highlighting? A program like SciTE might just be what you need as it offers you some nice features and does not take up space on your system.
SciTE is an open source text editor that can be both used as an editor of plain text and for an editor for programming language. Has features like method folds, change languages and many other tools to help you edit your text better. One of the major attractions of this program is the fact that it does not require any installation.
Another major reason why this program fits perfectly into the plans of most users, including a newbie is the simplicity of its user interface. The interface is designed from a regular window with very simple layout. Text can be copied as RTF, while bookmarks can be set with minimal efforts. Some other features in SciTE include; block comments, convert a selection to uppercase, complete a word and expand abbreviations.
SciTE is easy to use, and does not take up space on your system as it does not require any installation. Also, the program will not hang your system.
