Earth explorer can do all these and even more. It also produces vector map layers such as islands, coastlines, boundaries, longitude-latitude grids etc.
It also provides different types of maps which includes 267 countries, 40,000 cities, 15,000 islands and even detailed information on 1,700 historical earthquakes. You can zoom in and out, compute the distance between two points and even rotate the globe.
Furthermore, It has a high-resolution, GPS enabled digital map program which produces crystal clear topographic images. Earth Explorer also contains outline information on rivers, lakes, political boundaries which are then integrated to provide a 3D view of the planet.
It gives users options to show GPS tracks on the map, place path routes to map e.t.c It also supports NMEA-0183 GPS receiver. Users can also download maps to the cache in background.
