UltraDefrag 4.0.1 RC8
O. James Samson - March 11, 2010This program falls under the categories of open source programs that work much more than expectation. The publishers have made fragmentation much more fun than it used to be. UltraDefrag 4.0.1 RC8 is an open source defragmentation tool for Windows NT. This version is much faster and this can be traced to the fact that defragmentation is done by kernel-mode driver.
UltraDefrag 4.0.1 RC8 has three basic interfaces, and these are as follows: graphical; console as well as native. The GUI is most essential because it represents file system virtually as a colour coded map. The console on the other hand, is an option for those who would rather have the command line; allowing you to run UltraDefrag from the task scheduler and scripts.
Some of the features that can be found in this version include: computer shutdown after a job has completed; fast disc optimization; single file and folder defragmentation; boot time defragmentation; defragment scheduler among others.
