Autoruns 10.04

O. James Samson - October 11, 2010

If you want to have a knowledge of all the different programs that runs when you boot your system or login, and also show you the entries in the order; Autoruns is one program you can use. Some of these programs include; the ones in your folder, RunOnce, Run, as well as other registry keys. The program has the ability to display or show how many executables launched automatically during boot; giving you a better knowledge of what you have on your system.

Autoruns 10.04 can be configured to show other locations which include: Explorer shell extensions; browser helper objects; toolbars; Winlogon notifications; auto-start services; Appinit DLLs; image hijacks; boot execute images; Winsock Layered Service; and a host of others. Not a bad program if you really want to have a peep into what is actually new on your computer, especially during startup.

Not many freeware programs have so many loaded features like Autoruns, at least not for now. Users need to be very careful before disabling some of the programs on their system because this might cause some problems for them later. For the things you don’t need on your computer, just be absolutely sure you take a proper look at them before disabling them; the third-party programs in particular.
