Your hard drive needs to be defragmented regularly to keep your pc running in optimum condition, or else your computer begins to slow up after a while due to files and parts of files being stored in scattered places all over the hard drive. Therefore it’s essential you defragment it from time to time. A lot of people probably don’t even bother or don’t know they have to, and if they do, it can be a slow or almost impossible process, as it can keep getting interrupted by screensavers, virus scanners accessing the drive, etc.

Leading to you going crazy and maybe even giving up on defraging altogether! That’s where diskeeper comes in, with its simple to understand, “set it and forget it” settings, it’s fully automated very regular defragmentation and some advanced options much better than what the built in windows defragmentation is capable of, such as defragging the MFT (master file table) and most times you won’t even notice it when its doing its thing and can continue using your computer as if nothings happening, it can’t even be interrupted by those other things i mentioned! So once you “set it and forget it” (yeah, it’s really what the settings called, i didn’t just make that up!) nothing can go wrong and you can rest assured your hard drive and files are being kept in top condition! Although in my opinion it could be a tad cheaper.

Adusoft Photo DVD Slideshow is a simple program which has some very powerful features. You can assemble your photos into a slide show using simple point and click tools, and choose from 190 transitions, some professioanlly produced menu designs, and then burn the slideshow right onto DVD. It couldn’t be easier.
It’s a snap, just click on your photos and choose the transitions between them, maybe a little music to go with it. It’s really very simple and pretty much trouble free. Obviouslyyou may have issues with certain DVD recorders/burners, but that’s the way of things. DVD standards are a good idea, which is why there are sadly so many of them!
That joke aside, the tests with our DVD recorder were fine, so no problems here. Registering the program costs just $39.95, and at that price it’s a bargain. Click here to visit Freedownloadscenter or go to Adusoft’s web site

The Wizard’s Castle is very similar to a game that I played on my mom’s IBM when I was a lad of fifteen. Games were never good quality back in the early eighties, and we’ve really grown a lot since then. The Wizard’s Castle is a reminder why computer games grew up. (more…)

Google launched docs.google.com around a week back which is a combination of two Online Google Applications : Writely(Google Docs now) & Google Spreadsheets. Before these two applications were separate but now, all your documents created in either Google Docs or Spreadsheets are shown in one interface which is very convenient feature for those who use (or planning to use) both of these applications. All your documents are stored online which means that you need not fear about power outages and hard disk failure and for editing/accessing your documents you need any computer with a browser and an internet connection.
The best thing about these Google Applications is that they are free, easy to use and you can have collaboration with others which means working on a same document or spredsheet with others at a same time. You can publish your documents as web pages which can be accessible to everyone or you can make them private. Documents can also be published to your blog and the tag assigned to the document will be used as the categor of the blog post. You can save files to your own computer in DOC, XLS, CSV, ODS, ODF, PDF, RTF and HTML formats. (more…)

Its estimated that a large percentage of computers are infected with spyware, so its important that you take the necessary precautions to ideally prevent it getting on your computer in the first place, but failing that, it’s necessary to scan your computer and remove any spyware that may have already installed,as many spywares can secretly install themselves on your computer in the background, just by visiting a webpage, without you having to even download or install anything.
It’s very likely you already have some of this unwanted spyware already on your computer. So this is why you need a program such as this, and this one has been around a long while now and has a very good reputation. I recommend you grab this free download and then i can almost guarantee it’ll find some little nasties you didnt know were there, let me know how you get on!

Even after you uninstall them, many program leave traces behind, which can clutter your computer after a while, slowing it up and even leading to errors. “Your Uninstaller” is an uninstaller program that cleans all that clutter and leftovers off your computer.
You simply uninstall the unwanted program through “Your Uninstaller”, it calls up the unwanted program’s default uninstaller and uninstalls the regular way, and then after that, it works its magic, scanning for leftover files, folders and registry entries that would normally be left behind by many programs if you dont use a third party uninstaller such as this one. Ive been using this for over a year and i highly recommend it for people who like to keep their computer running smoothly and error free and anyone who wants a safe, clean way to try out new programs from sites such as this one your reading now!

Streaming Audio Studio is the complete suite of tools for analyzing, recording, and editing audio. That would be enough to recommend it, if it didn’t also convert audio formats, help you to make loops, and capture and clean up crusty old recordings. It supports the most popular audio formats, the ones you expect like wav, mp3, wma, but some other out of the way ones too like vqf and ogg.
But as the name implies there is more to this software than just a nifty audio editing package. It streams otherwise inaccessible audio streams to disc as MP3 so you can now record all those broadcast shows for later consumption or for use on your MP3 player or iPod.

Echo the Mouse is a gentle reminder of the days of gaming when there was a time limit. Back then, the whole point is to make your gaming experience was to make it a brief distraction, not like the games of today where it will totally suck you in until you can’t do anything but to defeat “just one more level”. Free Audio Recorder is a simple program that enables you to record any sound you can hear on the speakers on your computer. You can record sounds with this program you can’t normally access because they are streamed and not passed through the audio system, but Free Audio Recorder does and it records them onto your hard disc as a file. You can set the recording quality from minimal 11500 up to 44100 CD quality.
There’s really not much to it, it’s a not a do-it-all swiss army knife; it’s just a tiny program which does just one job really well. Plus it’s a pretty much three clicks and you’re out. And you can’t argue with that price. If you need to record streamed radio and make audio CDs or MP3s out of it, then this is the ideal software for the job.
Go to the home page and download it here

Mozilla Firefox is a free, Open Source, cross-platform Browser with features like tabbed browsing, integrated pop-up blocker, built-in customizable search bar, built-in RSS reader, extension manager & many such time saviing features.
You can easily import your favourites from Internet Explorer inside Firefox which is called ‘Bookmarks’ in firefox. It’s a most downloaded freeware application for home users and well acclaimed by many media companies like Wall Street Journal, Forbes etc. Although Microsoft is implementing most of these features in their upcoming Internet Explorer 7 but i have found it slow compared to Firefox. Spreadfirefox.com Statistics says that Firefox had 200 million downloads in August 2006. And there are many extensions available which can further enhance your browsing experience. (more…)
