Here is one antivirus that has a tradition of detecting the presence of virus in a computer perfectly. It still retains most of its regular features that has earned it a name over the years. Features such as Boot-time scan; Resident protection (improved), Heuristic analysis for email, and not to forget its script blocking ability.
This version still works better as an on demand and resident virus scanner. The fact that it takes only a few learning to get adjusted to Avast makes it a great antivirus software that is a must have for that individual who wants security online.
Another feature I find in this version that one can also find in older version is the Skin. In my opinion, I think the publishers should start thinking about introducing some more options in the skin features. I think Avast is a little bit conservative when it comes to changes in this part of its feature.
On the whole, it is not a bad software and come to think of it, it is still in its Beta stage!

Wildbit viewer 5.6 Alpha is an image viewer with slide shows and compactly packaged. It is built with Thumbnail viewer, which includes image info and Meta data JPEG and TIFF support. This version also includes a shell toolbar where you can drop your favorite folder.
The editing options are also good, options available for the viewer is also fine even though it still needs some more improvement on the part of the developers. Another major asset of this software is that it does not hose your system extension settings and there by not giving you any course to worry about the state of your system.
The developers need to work on the speed of this software especially the slow pace of slide show and search. File search can be a lot faster than it is at the moment.

When you compare Adobe Reader to the Foxit Reader, then you are looking at one of the lightest pdf reader available. Foxit PDF Reader 3.1.2.1013 comes with more useful features like: Multimedia support and content-sharing options, while still allowing you to quickly access your PDFs.
The interface is also wonderful when compared to Adobe, so,changing your reading habits is not a necessity. Also, the speed at which it starts is also a confirmation of its size and weight.
On the other side of it, you still have to look for the Commands and it is usually hard to find. As a matter of fact, you have to start going through a curve to learn how to make use of it. I believe that only those who are patient can actually wait to get used to it. What about the search bar? I tried removing it because it was not doing me any good and what did I see? A warning that removing it will make some of its features not to work properly.

Scott’s Gmail Alert is one of the best I have seen when it comes to email alert or notification. It is designed with different colors to indicate when you have a mail or mails and can indicate up to five different accounts. It works perfectly with Gmail, Google application and RSS feeds and is noticed at your task bar section.
It is wonderful software and I bet you will love the way it blinks and when you consider that all you have to do is just sit by you desktop and get notification for new mails, then you will better appreciate what I am talking about.
I can’t find a fault with this and not even the hardened software critique would.
The recently released version 3.60 has these additional features:
- Optimization: Multi threaded networking added.
- Improved: Language Files
- Feature Added: More account options. Ability to open account in different browsers.
- Feature added: More Calendar options.
- Bug fix: Proxy Server bug fixed.
- Bug fix: Other minor bugs fixed.

Jv16 Power Tools contains all the necessary tools needed by you when using your PC. It gives you the ability to take charge of your system thereby putting you in almost total control of your system.
It helps you to clean and monitor your system, and thereby keeps your computer working perfectly without any problem and helps you control other computers in your Local Area Network (LAN).
Frankly speaking, I would have preferred some older versions of it, but because it is still in its beta stage, gives a lot of room for improvement.

Basically the first thing that comes to my mind or the mind of any individual when an antivirus is mentioned is its ability to protect a PC. No antivirus will be worth its buy if it does not guarantee online safety of files and the PC as a whole. I have few problems with this version and these are: it doesn’t keep records of previous scans, it slows down my system and of course it and the detection rate is not as high as I expect.
The Panda Cloud antivirus 0.8.83 Beta version gets my nod in the sense that it doesn’t require a special skill before installation. What this means is that I do not have to worry myself about configurations and settings which means any amateur can install it and go to work without having to worry himself.
Another key factor this antivirus has going for it is that one doesn’t have to worry with daily update as it gathers latest information about dealing with latest viruses even as they are released.
