RaidenFTPD is an easy-to-use FTP daemon. With this tool I share files with my friends and as many users as I want. Raiden provides file download services to customers or even setup your own home network FTP server. Not only are all the basic FTP features built-in; it also features various advanced features such as SSL/TLS, UTF8 (Unicode), UPnP NAT traversal and more.
I’ll recommend this for home use, it has a couple of hitches when it comes to professional use though, but I’ll rate it high. It has a lot of cool features, check it out yourself and be the judge.

There are times you lose very important files, sometimes without your knowing. These files could be irrecoverable. I used Recuva and my once irrecoverable files were right at my reach.
Recuva restores files that have been accidentally deleted from your computer including files emptied from your recycle bin and files from media devices (digital camera, iPods, memory cards, flash drives, etc). Whatever way the files might have been deleted whether by bugs, virus infection or improper shutdown due to power outage. Recuva brings back your files in shortest time. Isn’t that cool?
There are a couple of changes to the new version, which was released some days ago, Recuva 1.16.333.
The changes include:
Added
- Ability to search for non-deleted files (for recovery from damaged or reformatted disks only)
- Support for .rtf, .pdf, .mp3 and .tif files to deep scan
Fixed
- Bug that would limit file size of .avi files to 1GB after deep scan
- Various UI tweaks
- etc
Recuva restores files in their actual formats, no conversion whatsoever. You get back your files just the way you left them.
Check it out and see if it’s what you need, http://www.recuva.com/

Computers sometimes appear to work and function effectively even whilst being infected. Microsoft’s Malicious Software Remover is designed to check your computer for infections by specific prevalent malicious software including Blaster, mydoom and sasser and if an infection is found it removes it. So it also works like an anti-virus but it isn’t one. So if you are always online, you can rest assured that your computer is free of malware infection.
Because computers can appear to function normally when infected, Microsoft advises you to run this tool even if your computer seems to be fine. In addition to using this tool, you should use an up-to-date antivirus product to help protect your computer from other malicious software.
Guess what? Rumor has it that, this Malicious Software Removal tool removed game password-stealing software from more than 2 million PCs in the first week after the updated version was released , So it’s already living to it name.
Want to try it? The new version was just released last week- Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool 2.0

Broadcast real time text news over the company network to all connected receivers. Also display notes locally as known from previous versions. Sophisticated time control included!
Pros: MemoTicker has developed from a handy note tool to a powerful news system for a company network. Important news and information can spread at high speed and in real-time. This is push-communication as an instrument, without using the Intranet, and without the necessity to act yourself in order to receive the information (pull-communication, like with browsers, email, etc.). Using memoticker3, you display or broadcast your notes and memos in a ticker on top or bottom of the screen – similar to the known stock exchange or news tickers in TV.
As a special feature, a sophisticated time control turns your ticker-line into a powerful time management system. You can display your notes permanently or on selected dates. A powerful and easy to use timing control assists you with creating date-controlled notes. News broadcast then can be controlled to such logic as “Broadcast this message (show this note) on every last Tuesday of the month, and also on two days before”. News created on a computer defined as the transmitter will be displayed on all computers defined as receivers. A company network can hold one ore more transmitters, but a receiver can only be connected to one transmitter at a time.
Switching to another transmitter can easily be done by entering a new network path. MemoTicker may, but does not have to run permanently on the broadcast computer in order to maintain the broadcast mode. You can close MemoTicker after creating, editing or deleting news on the broadcast computer. It is merely essential to keep the broadcast computer itself running. The sysop can individually activate the broadcast mode and set the network path to the broadcast computer on each computer designated as receiver. He creates his password on the broadcast computer administrated by him. It is not necessary to explicitly define a computer as transmitter. Each computer not set as a MemoTicker receiver can be a transmitter.

This tool is very useful for Business Bulk SMS text messaging. It can be used to remind clients or patients of appointments or to promote special events or offers. Many companies use this method including recruitment agencies, doctor’s surgeries and etc.
Pros: Sending SMS is the main feature. For that one can add customers, get a report on which SMS succeeded, what failed and which phone may be was not reachable. Settings is the other choice in the top level menu. Sending text message could be to an individual customer or can be a broadcast to all of them. For sending these text messages one creates the message in the text box provided. Creating the group to whom the message needs to be broadcast consists of just dragging names from the complete list to the target list.
For adding a customer you need to type in customer name, address, location, phone number and e-mail addresses. For automatic SMS, the text can be entered in a text box and automatic message checkbox can be checked. SMS report provides statistics that cover no of SMS sent, number remaining, messages delivered and numbers that failed. Messages are sent with the Senders Name (as Sender Id).
The application can deliver text messages to all the operational areas covered by either GSM or the CDMA networks. Customized message s could be sent in a single click to different phones. Log of historical records are maintained. It could be useful for Doctor’s clinic for reminding of people of their appointments and such other operations.
Cons: Except for the usual watchfulness required of version 1.0 software nothing adverse was found.

This video and audio conversion software, 4Media Video Converter Platinum 5 can help you to convert between video files and between audio files. You can convert WMV to AVI, convert WMV to MPEG, and convert TS to WMV HD.
Pros: 4Media Video Converter Platinum is designed to meet all your needs of converting video files between AVI, MPEG, WMV, ASF, 3GP, RM and MP4 formats. Audio conversion from audio and picture/ audio extraction from video are fully supported. It is capable of clipping and merging your video segments at will to get flexible output with the ability of clipping and merging segments selectively. You could capture images from video too to create thumbnails for the movies in your collection. Once clipping of a video is done, you can preview the segment, as well as the snapshot and the source file. It is possible to merge multiple clips to create one.
There’s a lot setting possible when working on conversion of files. These include details of video and audio profiles settings. Details include codec used, bit rates, video size, frame rate, aspect ratio and so on for video while for audio one can set bit rate, sample rate, number of channels being encoded and so on. Audio conversion features include converting CD to any other audio formats. The application produces good quality of video and audio both. Main interface is clean and simple enough. One defines the profile to which the input file is to be converted. The range of profiles that can be defined is very large and include video formats for such devices as PSP, iPhone, general video, Apple TV, iPod, Xbox, mobile phones, HD video and user defined. Video and audio quality can also be defined qualitatively on the front panel. The application is claimed to multithreaded. That would imply large speed improvements in conversion as the current multi core processors are used. The application can process several videos in a batch.
Cons: With so many formats being involved there’s always a possibility some combinations could give rise to problems. I needs to watch out for it.

I work online at home and most of the time I notice some unauthorized access to my connection, from my family. I used iNet protector to and I was able to protect my connection. Don’t get it twisted this is not an antivirus or a firewall. This tool prevent unauthorized accesses to your connection by enabling you to password your connection.
It’s key features include restriction to internet access at specified time (that save the stress of having to type your password several times.), allowing only specified programs and only specified websites (this way you can keep employees from online entertainment like chatting and movies while working. Isn’t that wonderful).
You could also specify time when your connection comes on and goes off, so as to put checks on the time your kids spend on the internet, and also increase productivity of workers by limiting the temptation for web surfing block web surfing and online entertainment .
You could use this tool to block harmful services and allow useful ones like education related sites for your kids.
This is a good tool and I strongly recommend it for both private and professional use.

This tool searches and duplicates files on your computer and network. It has no restrictions whatsoever to file types and extensions. I noticed, however, that it is pretty fast when it comes to duplicating files but not as fast in erasing unwanted files. Works well for me though.
It is an excellent tool, not only for private users but also for professional purposes (seeing that companies work with an enormous amount of files).
File types are unlimited, exact definition and search according to date and time, size, attributes and contents are included in this application.
You can specify search parameters like drives, folder location, networks etc. Any search you select can be stored as a “Job” and re-loaded at any time.
You can specify how the program erases data since duplicated files are usually redundant and unnecessary and consumes disk space, so your hard disk space is conserved..

There are times you want to search for files and you haven’t got the fuggiest idea the name or the spelling. All you can remember is probably a letter and it’s position in the word or perhaps a punctuation mark (. , ! ; :).
Instant File Name Search (IFNS) instantly searches files by name or wildcards on your computer or local network. It even supports Boolean operators (AND, OR, NOT), punctuations, hot keys and a convenient, Explorer like interface.
I am yet to recover from my trial of this search tool. It works exactly the way it’s say it works, searching and bringing out results to every last detail. It comes with features like instant search, network search, easy to use explorer interface, taskbar icon and hot keys for easy access, etc.
I am sure you want to look this up for yourself, visit http://www.sowsoft.com/file-name-search.htm
